Wizards & Window Shopping for Debt Tools
There are a number of companies out there offering free debt advice and you should ensure you chose someone who will give you the best advice based on your own personal circumstances. Someone who won’t advise you to sign a Trust Deed just because that’s their preferred option even if it’s not best for you.
The companies you see on the TV and/or radio (ourselves included) are guaranteed to be the ones you think of first and let’s face it, it’s thrown in your face enough.
Between Don’t Fret about Debt.Net and our “annoying jingle” that you can’t stand but it sure does stick in your head; to Trust Deed Scotland.Net and their TV appearances, you are engulfed in debt calculators, testimonials and even a Trust Deed wizard.
Apparently it’s “magic”.
The Real Deal
At Don’t Fret about Debt we also have a debt tool, which allows you to enter a few pieces of crucial information such as your debt level etc. and voilà you are given a list of ALL options available to you and an idea of the minimum amount you would need to pay towards your debt each month and for how long. We give you the tools to make an informed choice about what’s best for you and you can, if you wish remain anonymous. .
We do ask for your name and email address (if you don’t mind). This is just in case you don’t want to call us and perhaps would like a friendly point of contact if you have any questions after seeing the options. If you don’t want to divulge your name or your email address for that matter, you can still see your debt calculator results.
That can’t be said for the Trust Deed Wizard. In fact, they want your details so much, if you don’t give them ALL the information they demand, they don’t let you actually see the figures the magic debt wizard has calculated.
How rubbish is that? They might as well ground you for a week and take away your pocket money too.
What’s The Harm?
I suppose you can just ignore any emails, delete them along with all the spam and stick a few digits in the telephone box, they won’t know you’ve entered 1234567890 right? Wrong!!
Unless you give them an actual phone number, you’re still not seeing those magic numbers. Surely the company you decide to go with is your choice? Not one you have been forced into speaking to because your handbag has started vibrating twice a day for the past week and it’s driving you mad.
What happened to window shopping, being able to browse your options without the hassle of having to pass on your details, only to be bombarded by calls, texts and emails? You don’t look in a shop window only to be chased down the street by a member of staff throwing items they have for sale at you, so don’t put up with it when choosing which company to go with.
If they won’t give you the information you want without having to jump through hoops then contact someone who does…..like us – Don’t Fret About Debt.Net.
